Hola! I'm not gonna be long, THIS IPROMISE. BUT, I know that I mentioned a local group called Born Forty here in town (Statesboro Ga-In case there are some distance followers out there). Well, I had a chance to do a brief interview with the members of this group; this was also a little project for a class i'm in (ONLINE JOURNALISM). This package was kind of put together to both spread the word about this group and as sort of a guinea pig for the "broacasting side of me!" lol.

So, without further ado, I give you my little packet-"Born Forty"

Hope you like it! ;).

Hey Guys! I know my last blog seemed to be a "goodbye blog" but IT'S NOT! I said that I am going to keep doing this blog thing! It's slowly but surely becoming apart of my daily/bi-daily routine. Anyway! I'm not gonna keep you long. Just wanted to let you guys know about these two girls(Erin and Roxanne) on youtube. Now I must admit, when I first saw these girls on Ellen, I thought that they're weird. I mean, they sing in a BATHROOM for goodness sake! BUT, in the midst of my completing my work, I drifted off into "youtube land" and decided to give these girls a chance. And they're actually not bad. IN FACT, they aren't bad at all!

So I listened to a few of their accoustic bathroom melodies....ok SEVERAL! And here's one that I liked.

Hope you guys enjoy it too. Keep posting and check them out!

Rin on the Rox:

Ok, so I lied! I know I said ONE of my favorites, but I couldn't choose between the two. Soo.....YOU DO IT FOR ME!

For real, for real guys! These girls are talented and cute! They seem humble and as though they're just having fun doing what they love. So I hope you guys like it...Or AS THEY WOULD SAY, "hate it, whatever...just enjoy it!" =P. ttyl
Ok guys. So i'll have to admit, when professor Carr told this class (online journ-3330)that we would have to become consistent "bloggers," I was not exactly psyched. HOWEVER, I now admit the mere fact that I actually learned a lot from NOT ONLY "blogging" (if you would like to call my little 'ole page that), but from the ENTIRE class. So shout out to professor Carr....I am now.....NOT AS technologically challenged as I was before. So thanks!

With that said, i'm gonna try to keep up this "ILike Blog." It's a very creative way to express my love for music and share occasional thoughts about other issues, or lack there of!

Sooooo....It wouldn't be right IF I did not leave you(for now) with a special song. This is a song i'm REALLY feeling right now. OF COURSE, I have loved MUSIQ SOULCHILD ever since his first album "Ajuswanasing," he stole my heart with his soft, enduring melodies, WITH the eclectic like genre to compliment!

This song is called "So Beautiful." This is just a sample listen, BUT there should be a place where you can click and listen to the whole song.

so beautiful - musiq soulchild

ALSO: I found this new (at least to me) site called "imeem." This site is KIND OF like "youtube" in a sense. EXCEPT, it appears to me that "imeem" is a more updated site and it not only gives you the opportunity (like youtube) to create your own playlists and account, but it give you the opportunity to create your own page....Much like "MY BLOGSPOT!"

So check it out! And let me know what you think!

Ok. This week is kind of a bad week for me. Someone very close to my heart passed on Friday; a day that was SUPPOSE to be one of the most memorable days of his life (the prom). So I dedicate this song to you.

I know the song says "you were my sister," but you were like my little brother. So this is in memory of you Edwin. Only God knows why.....So, I trust in him.
PROVERBS 3:5

You are FOREVER missed!

Ok! So I don't have much to talk, or BLOG about today. However, there are a couple of new and old songs I wanted to throw your way. One of the songs is entitled, "What About Now" by Daughtry. Now, I absolutely love Daughtry! Not to mention Chris Daughtry's hotness! ;). But this song has an interesting message and it inspires me to become a difference in the world. So here's a video.

The second song you guys should check out is Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down." Keri is a rising star. BUT, what most ppl don't know about her is, she was a writer. YEP! She was one of the wizards we RARELY know about, who was working behind the scenes doing their magical thing. She has written for stars such as Beyonce', Brittany Spears, and so on. Hilson is an awsome songstress and a beautiful youn woman. Here is a glimpse of her music-magic!

And this last song is just a song I listen to, IF NOT everyday, then every other day! I love this song. It's written and recorded by the "one hit wonders" Debarge. I told you guys that i'm in love with old music! Anyway, this group is not only special because of the classic songs they've made, but because they're siblings! And if you know me, then you know NOTHING is more important to me than mi familia (MY FAMILY=). So check it out! It's called "I Like It." (Sry I couldn't find a video, but the music is the most important thing).

OK guys! Three weeks until graduation and only ONE FOLLOWER (Love you Shari; appriciate the follow-up)!!! lol. But you guys REALLY have to start posting or responding or SOMETHING!!! It doesn't have to be positive. It can be a refutation of soemething i've previously said, or music I seem to like.

Or just comment on a "weekly question," though they seem to be more BI-weekly, rather than weekly!

Ok! ttyl ;).

WEEKLY QUESTION: Are online classes effecting the communication between teachers and students? AND, do students learn better in a "classroom enviroment" rather than web-based courses???

And fotrm the record, I am VERY aware that I don't have that many followers. HOWEVER, I am optimistic that SOMEONE will begin to post!!!

=). So please make a comment!
So my friend says I need to blog about something more interesting (I guess obviously i'm not interesting enough for
him). SO, this blog is dedicated to M. Bos.... ;).

Hope he likes this; it's one of his fav songs!

HEY EVERYONE! Yep, i'm back again. I wanted to let you guys know about an upcoming "End of the Year Concer" at the Perfoming Arts Center at Georgia Southern. The artist performing is non other than Drake! Now, I know some of you are probably saying to yourself, "who the heck is Drake???"

Well, ponder nolonger! Drake, or to his parents, Aubrey Drake Graham is a new and upcoming rapper and singer. He is known for playing Jimmy Brooks, the physically disabled character on Degrassi: The Next Generation. As a rapper, Graham uses the stage name Drake, and is often billed as the new version of The Fresh Prince. After rumors of signing with Young Money Entertainment, it was later confirmed that Drake is only affiliated with the label, and has officially signed with Atlantic Records. He is managed by Hip Hop Since 1978.

Drakes latest single in called successful. Check it out!

Sry if anyone was offended by the song. Besides the profanity, i'm really diggin the song. Try to attend the concert here at GSU. Hosted by Certified Crunknessn Ent.

Day 26, one of P. Diddy's latest groups that completes the family of Bad Boy, just released their sophomore album. The first single is called "Imma Put It on Her."

For a sneak peak of the album, log onto MTV.com, or simply youtube Day 26 songs from the album "Forever in a Day."

Here's the first single from their second album. This song is entitled "Put it on Her:"

Let me know what you think! I'll DEFINITELY give you a response ;).
WEEKLY QUESTION: Should there be a pre-screen/background check on the new Reality t.v. "stars?"

(I ask because some of these ppl-girls on VH1's "For the Love of Ray J"-are just PSYCHO)!

So post, because, oddly enough, people do look at television shows such as For the Love of Ray J and these shows do have an effect on some people...however WEIRD they may be....

Thursday, April 2, 2009

So on to my daily, or "bi-daily" blog.

Let's talk National Anthem. There has been recent comparisons of different versions of the Star Spangled Banner, sung by three TOTALLY different women; from three different generations.

"Diva" # 1: WHITNEY HOUSTON.

-Now, being a fan of "oldie, but goodie" music, I absolutely love ANYTHING Whitney sings! She's pretty, fun, and back in the day, she was the 'it girl!' Here's her version of the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV in 1991.

She sings the National Anthem EFFORTLESSLY! And with a smile on her face the ENTIRE time at that!

The Next "DIVA" is the one and only...Ms. Beyonce' Knowles:

Now we all know that Beyonce', lead singer of former group, Destiny's Child, is a POWER HOUSE when it comes to her instrument. Noone is quite like her! In my opinion, Beyonce' is the only "diva" giving Ms. Houston a run for her money...Although, I still have to say, Whitney's arrangement was STILL better. But here's Ms. B.

Wow! That was pretty darn good! That was Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston, Texas...where Queen B herself is from.

Next is the "over night star," Ms. Jordin Sparks. She's young and tredy AND has a beautiful voice! PLUS, she doesn't do such a bad job with the Star Spangled Banner either.

SO! What do you think??? All three beautiful, each had a different style. You tell me...

Which version do you like best?

ttys,

~Jaz ;).
